Halloween is just around the corner, and we couldn't be more excited to announce the spine-tingling, thrill-packed Halloween Boofest Weekends at Walnut Hills Campground in Staunton, VA. Get ready for four weekends of family-friendly frights and unforgettable memories throughout October 2023. Here's a sneak peek of what's in store for each Friday and Saturday:
Friday Night Frights
As the sun sets, the magic begins. Every Friday evening, the camp comes alive with activities that will send shivers down your spine:
6:00 pm - Magic Pumpkin Patch Planting: Join us at the Pavilion and help make our Magical Walnut Hills Pumpkin Seed mix. Get ready to watch your pumpkins grow!
7:00 pm - FREE S'MORES Behind the Pool: Gather 'round the campfire and create ooey, gooey, and delicious S'mores. It's a campfire treat you won't want to miss!
8:00 pm - Friday Night Fright on the Big Movie Screen: Snuggle up with your loved ones as we screen a family-friendly feature film. Each Friday, a new movie will be chosen to keep the spooky spirit alive.
Saturday, a Day of Ghoulish Delights
Saturdays at Walnut Hills Campground during Boofest are jam-packed with thrilling activities for all ages:
10:00 am - Pumpkin Painting: Purchase your pumpkin at the camp store for just $3.00. Bring your receipt to the Pavilion and select your pumpkin from the Magic Pumpkin Patch. Get creative, paint your pumpkin, and enter it into our pumpkin painting contest. Winners will be announced at the Monster Mash Bash in the evening.
12:00 pm - Colortime at the Pavilion: For only $10.00, join us at the Pavilion for Tie Dyeing fun. Create your very own one-of-a-kind Walnut Hills Halloween T-Shirt!
1:00 pm - Halloween Hayride and Golf Cart/Bike Parade: Embark on a spooktacular hayride around the park. Meet at the Pavilion and participate in our "Best Decorated Cart and Bicycle" contest for a chance to win fantastic prizes.
3:00 pm - Halloween Costume Contest: Show off your scariest, most creative, or silliest Halloween costume at the Pavilion. Prizes await the most bewitching ensembles. Don't forget to bring your furry friends for the pet costume contest!
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm - Trick or Treating: It's time for all you ghouls, goblins, princes, princesses, and everything in between to take flight and gather up those goodies. Remember, no vehicle traffic during this time to keep everyone safe.
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm - Monster Mash Bash: The night's main event! Enjoy music and fun by the Pavilion. Dance the night away in your costumes for a chance to win more fabulous prizes. Join the Haystack Lollipop Hunt and make this a night to remember with endless dancing and laughter.
